ST. CATHARINES, ON (May 14, 2018) -- Just Isaac had its official release at CLIFFest, a film festival in Thamesville, Ontario. Shown on May 5, 2018, the film was given an Award of Merit, a people's choice award at the festival.
This 25-minute documentary follows boxer Isaac Mitchell. In 2015, he decided to make a come-back into the world of boxing after losing his coach and mentor to a car accident in 2011. The film gives a peek into the courage and determination needed to make such a journey.
In winning this award, CubeCity joins the ranks of other international filmmakers. "CLIFF helps set the standard for craft, creativity and message and we are pleased to have screened exceptional high quality entries like Just Isaac. The goal of CLIFF is to help winners achieve the recognition they deserve," said Florin Marksteiner, the festival's director.
Also, with regard to the Just Isaac documentary, he noted the "splendid cinematography in a documentary on how faith wins."
